Commercial Interior Photography for Thomas Sanderson
September 9, 2016
Over the last two years I have been working commercial interior photography for Thomas Sanderson, Europe’s largest manufacturer of conservatory blinds, window blinds and shutters as well as commercial installations. Handcrafted in the UK, Thomas Sanderson window coverings have a heritage in Britain going back 25 years, starting life as a family run business having evolved into an international company with a network of over 160 designers, installers and surveyors.
Additionally, Thomas Sanderson have a special collaboration making plantation style shutters with Laura Ashley who also supply exclusive fabrics for a designer collection of window blinds. As a result, Laura Ashley home products have featured in several shoots which has been fantastic.
Working with the brand is always really fun. Portraiture and entertainment photography make up the bulk of my work but I really enjoy getting to work in these luxury interiors. It requires a totally different mindset and whilst there is often nobody to direct, the pressure is always on with a lot to capture in limited time. These are all on location too with no studio set builds, so while natural light is often the most beautiful, bad weather days require fast thinking when artificial lighting is required.
Here is a selection of my favourite images from the last year…
