Behind The Scenes with Fraser Churchill

In this post I go behind the scenes with Fraser Churchill.

At the end of March I photographed singer/songwriter Fraser Churchill in London. He was in need of some urgent promo material to take with him on a trip to the US. Two weeks later he flew out to Nashville, Tennessee to write songs on Music Row with acclaimed writers such as Steve McEwen at Sony/ATV, Rivers Rutherford, Jennifer Hanson & Lindsey Ray, Steven Dale Jones and Tommy Lee James. Fraser then went on to Los Angeles to perform at the MUSEXPO showcase at SIR Studios and poolside at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. He even bumped into his idol, John Mayer, twice, whilst he was out there.

We started out our session at LA Sound Studios in West London, owned and run by Frasers Co-Manager, Jon O’Mahoney. From there we went to a studio session at Last Shot Studios in Acton where we shot a mixture of digital and film with simple studio lit portraits as well as utilising the great North facing window light. Once we called it a day at the studio we grabbed lunch in Notting Hill and spoke a lot about Frasers upcoming US trip as well as songwriting and music in general. Fraser has a great approach to music and life in general, making him fun to work with and a buzz to be around. We finished off the day by winding up a roll of black and white film on the streets of Notting Hill.
